Selecting the Optimal
System
To help you
identify the instrumentation best suited to your geophysical and
scientific needs, GEM has developed the Application Configurator.
The Configurator comprises three tables.
The
Application
Configurator table shows the Sampling Interval
(in seconds), Mode (Slow, Walk, Fast and Super Fast) and Sensitivity
(in nT). It also relates these values to specific Product Families:
- GSM-19T (Proton Precession)
- GSM-19, 19W
and 19 (Overhauser)
- GSM-30 (Potassium)
- GSM-20GS
(SuperGrad)
Observatory
products are based on the Overhauser technology. Therefore, for
basic details on these systems, refer to the GSM-19 configurations.
The
Recommended Instrumentation
table gives an overview of the magnetometer models that apply for
Ground, Airborne and Stationary work and complements the Application
Configurator.

The
Application
/ Instrumentation Selection table provides an overall
summary of the instrumentation that is available for the following
applications.
